Reporting concerns on/offline

If you ever have a concern, either for yourself or for someone else, about something that has happened online or offline, it’s really important to report that concern. 

Here is a graphic representing the reporting cycle of all the different ways you can report concerns at our school:


You get to decide how you report your concern…

  • Speak with your Head of Learning
  • Speak with your Form Tutor
  • Message your Head of Learning or Form Tutor using Teams Chat (please note that these may not be picked up out of school hours)
  • Speak to any member of staff you feel comfortable speaking to.
  • Use the Whisper tool to send an anonymous report.
  • Write a statement at home and hand this to your Form Tutor or Head of Learning.
  • Speak to a member of staff on duty.
  • Speak to a parent and ask them to contact your Head of Learning.
  • Speak to a member of the Safeguarding team.

This could include, but is not limited to online safety, bullying, a wellbeing/mental health concern. Please note that any reports made here are NOT anonymous. This information may need to be shared with external agencies and there may be occasions that we may need to share concerns with parents. By completing this form, you are agreeing to those terms.

Reporting to School

Click on the Whisper tool below to make a report about any aspect of online safety, safeguarding or bullying involving yourself or someone else that will go straight to the inbox of a senior member of Herschel staff.

You can choose whether or not you remain anonymous when you make the report, although you must bear in mind that if you remain anonymous it may be more difficult for the school to act on the information.

Report Remove Tool for naked images and videos (IWF)

The Internet Watch Foundation has created the world's first tool to help children and young people get naked images of themselves removed from the internet.

The Report Remove Tool can be accessed through the Childline website. IWF analysts will then review the content and create a unique digital fingerprint known as a hash, before sharing it with tech companies to help prevent it from being uploaded and shared.

Making a CEOP Report

Report issues of online abuse or if you are concerned about the way in which someone has been communicating with you online, click on the button below to make a report to CEOP - the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre.

This might be someone:

  • Making you have sex when you don't want to
  • Chatting online about sex
  • Asking you to do sexual things on webcam
  • Asking you to meet up if you've only met them online
  • Asking for sexual pictures of you
  • Making you feel unsafe 

They will walk you the process of reporting and you can change your mind and stop at any stage.

Reporting Terrorist Activity

If you come across any terrorist related content or violent extremist content online or offline that worries you, click the STOP button below. Communities working together defeat terrorism, and the police need your help to pass on anything you know or discover.
