‘Just Like Us’ – The LGBT+ Young People’s Charity

On Thursday 21st May, we took part in a live broadcast from ‘Just Like Us’ – The LGBT+ Young People’s Charity.

This enabled students and staff at Herschel to gain a valuable insight into two young people’s lives who identify as part of the LGBT+ community.

The presenters discussed their lived experiences at home, school and in the wider world and discussed the importance of being an ally and treating all people with respect and dignity.

There was a clear focus on Respect, Empathy, Belonging, the Protected Characteristics in UK law and the Equality Act 2010.

It was an amazing opportunity to see other peoples’ perspectives, experiences and how it is our Cultural Diversity that will always be a strength if we learn from each other with a focus on Kindness, rather than judgement.
