Herschel celebrates outstanding GCSE and A Level results 2026

Herschel Grammar School is delighted to celebrate another year of exceptional academic achievement, with students attaining outstanding GCSE and A Level results. These achievements are a testament to the hard work, dedication and resilience of our students, supported by the unwavering commitment of staff, parents and carers.

Year-on-year comparisons remain complex due to the unique grading approaches during the pandemic. It is also important to recognise that the pandemic and subsequent cost-of-living crisis have created additional pressures for young people and their families. Against this backdrop, this year’s results are even more impressive.

Herschel Grammar School is delighted to celebrate another year of outstanding GCSE results, with students achieving excellent outcomes across a wide range of subjects and continuing the school's tradition of academic excellence.

The Class of 2026 demonstrated exceptional commitment, resilience and ambition, achieving results that compare favourably with previous years.

In particular, the proportion of the highest grades continues to be impressive, with half of all GCSE grades awarded at Grades 9-8 and nearly three-quarters awarded at Grades 9-7.                               

A Level Result 2026

This year’s A Level results are among the best in the school’s long history and are truly remarkable.  Our Sixth Form students have achieved an impressive set of A Level results, enabling them to progress to a wide variety of destinations, including leading universities, degree apprenticeships and other exciting opportunities.

The average grade at A Level and EPQ is a Grade B+, which is very credible and represents excellent attainment.

Many of our A-level students will now progress to some of the country’s most prestigious universities, while a record number of our Year 11s will continue their journey with us in the Herschel Sixth Form.
