We are seeking to appoint a well qualified teacher of Drama to join our successful and thriving Creative Arts Faculty. The job will be based at Herschel Grammar School and we offer Drama up to GCSE. The post could also involve teaching a small number of English or French or Spanish lessons at KS3. The Drama Department is well-resourced in a dedicated studio with good performance equipment and space. The faculty has highly supportive and experienced staff who are passionate about their subject and work collaboratively to provide the very best education for our pupils. Required to work during internal and external and exam seasons as required

Rate of pay - £10.00 per hour

Invigilators are required to join our team in March 2023 to support students and aid the smooth running of exams at Herschel Grammar School.  Experienced or non-experienced candidates are welcome as full training will be given.

The main exam season is in May/June. School internal exams take place in December, February, March, April, May and June and we require invigilators to help run these exams. Other exams take place throughout the year.

Duties include:

  1. Assisting in the setting up of the examination room i.e. helping in the opening and distribution of question papers and other authorised materials to candidates.
  2. Helping to supervise the orderly entry of students into the exam room and ensuring that they are correctly identified and seated according to the seating plan.
  3. Maintaining active invigilation throughout the examination to ensure that no malpractice occurs.
  4. Taking responsibility, as part of a team, for a group of candidates when in the exam room.
  5. Ending exams in accordance with the regulations.
  6. Collecting exam scripts and arranging them in candidate number order and returning all exam scripts, unused papers, registers and other materials to the Exams Office immediately after the end of the exam.
  7. Maintaining security and confidentiality.

Skills required: Organisation, reliability, punctuality, responsibility, use of initiative and good communication skills.

The appointment will be subject to a clear Disclosure and Barring Services check.
