Reserva Duplicada was a play performed by Onatti for schools all around the UK, aimed at teenagers, performed by 2 Spanish actors, from Spain, completely in Spanish.

The setting was unconventional and fascinating, but it still closely resembled a typical Airbnb, where the action was set.

The characters worked nicely together, to try to emphasise that there was algo mal with the Airbnb through a bunch of funny arguments they had with each other. As there were only 2 actors of a total of 4 main characters, the act consisted of little comedietas - one pair of Carlos and Carlota and other pair of Paloma and Antonio, each going in the Airbnb one after another. 

One of the key features of the play was la interactividad and that it was understandable. Firstly, there were lots of props used in the play, which the actors brought out to make sure people understood the play, by showing and pointing at physical objects while the characters talked about the Airbnb. Furthermore, towards the middle of the play, they introduced a jardinero to the play, who couldn’t really understand Spanish very well. This role was played by one of our own students.  

The plot was captivating and unique, but also very amusing. In my opinion, the characters were funny and entretenidos. Also, I was able to practice my Spanish skills successfully and learn new vocabulary. I was happy that I was able to understand the play because the Spanish was challenging enough so that the play was interesting, but not too challenging so that I wouldn’t have understood it.

Le cours d’art  was about art students that were given a creative task to do. They had to draw or paint something that represents la personnalité de quelqu'un dans la classe. 

The characters were funny to watch, and engaged with us in a way that made us feel like we were a part of the class itself. They chose a volunteer from the audience, with whom they spoke French, asking him questions like: Où habites-tu? Comment t'apelles-tu? Quel âge as-tu?

They asked the volunteer these questions in a way that made it easy for both us and the volunteer to follow.

The French native actors spoke clearly, slower than the average native French speaker, so that we could understand using the French we've learnt in lessons.

 I was particularly impressed with how the two actors played play more than two characters throughout the whole play. C'était fabuleux. Overall, the play was really entertaining, and allowed us to use our French knowledge to learn how French conversations can go about. Ça m’a bien plu!
