HGS – 3 Award Winners- YE Area Finals

We are proud to share the success of our 2 brilliant year 12 Young Enterprise teams who have emerged winners at the SWiM awards presentation held in April ‘23 competing against Slough Windsor and Maidenhead teams. All teams from the Slough Windsor and Maidenhead area took part in the competition, presenting their companies and its ethos to the audience. They were given 10 minutes to answer questions from the judges.

Team DESCARLA won the TEAMWORK Award, truly deserved by a large team of 25 students. Their product range included thermochromic mugs and Resin Jewellery In many designs and patterns. The main challenge they faced was to ensuring fair share of workload and with robust management they conquered this with ease. Team MARIPOSA was recognised as a passionately committed enterprising team that received truly deserved INNOVATION award and were the RUNNERS -UP in the competition. They got together to produce a storybook which is inspired from a South African tribe that is not known to mainstream media. Their vision was to produce diverse books with representation of different cultures as well as different physical features including disabilities, to promote inclusive behaviour.

Both teams impressed the judges with their deportment, their confidence and their enthusiasm.
