Safeguarding

At Herschel Grammar school, the safety and wellbeing of all pupils is of the utmost importance.

No child should suffer harm, either at home or at school. Everyone who works at Herschel Grammar School has a responsibility to make sure that all our young people are safe.

What do we mean by safeguarding?

Safeguarding is defined as:

  • protecting children from maltreatment
  • preventing impairment of children’s mental and physical health and development
  • ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care and
  • taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes

If you have concerns about a child’s safety or wellbeing you should contact a member of the safeguarding team using the safeguarding email address: safeguarding@herschel.slough.sch.uk

The safeguarding team for 2023-24 is:

Designated Safeguarding Lead: Mrs Katrina Rodriguez
Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads: Mrs Catherine Sharpe
Mrs Taniya Malik
Ms Jo Rockall
Mr Graham Parsons

Online Monitoring in School

As part of our committment to safeguarding in school, we use some software called 'Impero' which monitors in real time both internet use and use of our ICT devices in school - the software immediately flags up anything that may be of concern so that we can check it out. Click on the logo to find out more. For further information pertaining to online safety, please refer to the Online Safety page.
