Muhammad Zafar Khan

I am a practising solicitor in a local solicitor firm and have lived in Slough for the last 20 years. I started my career as a lecturer and remained in this profession for about ten years. I have had the experience of enhancing cohesion among students, teachers and parents during my teaching career. I studied Law at Brunel University and the University of West London.

My contact with Herschel Grammar School started in 2007/8, when my eldest son passed 11+ and I attended the presentation evening. I was extremely impressed with the presentation and the achievements of the students in each academic year. Since then, I have had a strong affiliation with Herschel Grammar School. My son completed A levels at Herschel Grammar and is now studying for a Master’s Degree in Maths and Chemistry at University College London. My daughter currently attends Herschel Grammar school.

I feel honoured to be a Governor at Herschel Grammar school. I have huge respect for the teachers, who continue inspire the students to produce outstanding results, in spite of deteriorating financial resources. The dedication and hard work of the teachers and all the staff at the school are commendable.

I am proud to contribute as a school Governor at this prestigious school, which stands out as a symbol of quality education in the local vicinity. I will endeavour to extend my full assistance and co -operation to other respectable school Governors and teachers, in resolving issues pertaining to the school and its staff. I wish Herschel Grammar School could achieve all its targets without any intervention or hurdles.

I also work with a local charity organisation PWA, which represents Pakistani community in Slough and surrounding areas. I provide pro bono legal advice to local residents at PWA in Immigration and family matters once a week. Discussions in politics and sports are favourite topics when enjoying the company of friends. In my spare time I enjoy walks and have a keen interest in cricket.
