Our two Young Enterprise teams – Eco Chain and Tribe - took part in the YE Trade fair At Maidenhead on 8th February. They are both part of the YE Company Programme that empowers young people to set up and run a student company gaining practical business experience and key skills. Their stalls were beautifully set up and they got their first experience of selling their product to the general public.
Eco Chain – our creative and determined team’s product range is comprised of compressible metal straws accompanied with casings, cleaning brushes and turtle-themed keychains. They were a huge hit with the public. They stood there united by their unquenchable drive to protect turtle species and cleanse the oceans from the ever-increasing bulk of plastic.
Our second team – Tribe – were busy raising awareness about the prevalent threat surrounding endangered species. Their creation of a stylish line of clothing, 100% organic t-shirts handmade with emblems of vulnerable animals, seemed to be very popular with the general public and they sold their entire stock.
Both teams promoted conservation of the environment in their own ways and it was commendable to see their belief in their products. We also had a surprise visit from the former prime minister – Ms Theresa May - and this created a completely new buzz at the scene.
Team Tribe won the first Runners-up award. They were recognised for their innovative and driven sales techniques, inexhaustible energy and their immense drive to augment more and more members to their TRIBE.
Now preparing for the next round in Windsor on the 7th of March!
