Eco-committee update

Eco Bricks (Year 7 and 8)

Great work from our year 7s and 8s keeping most of our unrecycled plastics away from landfill (e.g. Plastic film, black trays, straws) to become part of the strong foundations of structure e.g. Bench, shed, table.

We already have 3 Eco Bricks that reached its minimum weight so we can validate them in Go Brik (

Save the plastic! Together we can make ecobricks and give plastic a whole new value. Sign up for free.

and either sell them for projects around the country or world, or use it ourselves!

Great work everybody!

WEEE and Cooking Oil recycling (Eco Committee)

Last Monday our Eco Committee has finally taken all the Waste Electric and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) collected throughout the year as well as Cooking Oil to Chalvey Household Waste Recycling Centre.

The WEEE metals will be recycled so virgin material does not need to be extracted reducing a lot of COemissions from machinery and water!

The Oil will be used as a fuel to produce Carbon Neutral Electricity so less fossil fuels will be burnt and less contribution to Global Warming!

Well done everyone for helping our school lower its Carbon Footprint!
