Jo Rockall

As the Headteacher of Herschel Grammar School I am an ex-officio Governor.

I grew up in West Sussex and went to my local comprehensive school, and then on to Leeds University to study a Communications degree with English, before studying to become an English teacher. I’ve worked in various schools in English teacher, Head of Sixth Form, Assistant and Deputy Headteacher roles.

Alongside my role as Headteacher at Herschel, I also Chair the Slough Association of Secondary Headteachers and am part of the steering group which has set up a Free School, Ditton Park Academy, and has another free school approved for opening in 2017.

I am Vice Chair of Governors at Haybrook College, and a Trustee of Ditton Park Academy and I work in partnership with Slough Borough Council, the police, voluntary sector and health on the borough’s Prevent strategy.

Outside of school my family -  husband, two children, two cats and a dog keep me busy. I enjoy walking the dog, reading extensively and going on holiday, where I lie on the beach and read some more.
