Race for Life

By Clara, Year 12 Charity Prefect

On Friday the 25th May, the school hosted a Race for Life charity event.

Everyone in the school got involved this year in running a course of five kilometres around the school grounds and all participants got a medal for their efforts. We raised an incredible £2612.34 between us for Cancer Research. Cancer Research is a great and worthy cause that funds lifesaving research into the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.

The day also included a cake and drinks sale to help raise funds, which many of the students thoroughly enjoyed.  A dedicated team of charity representatives and prefects were key to the day’s success by helping to organise events. Overall it was a lovely day, which was appreciated by many.
